When family members communicated that they were coming to the house to check up on her, Akulo's wife told them not to come "because she was afraid of what the Defendant would do." His wife told police that Akulo said "I'm going to kill you and if your family comes, I'll shoot them."įamily members told police that Akulov had been abusive to his wife in the past and felt it was appropriate to check up on her.

"During their argument, (Akulov) struck her in her head with his fists and shoved her," police said in court documents, adding that Akulo's wife had red marks around her arm and chest. When they arrived, they were informed that Anatoly Akulov had allegedly fired a gun towards an occupied vehicle at that location.īefore the shooting occurred, witnesses said, Akulov was arguing with his wife that afternoon "because he did not want her to go to work that evening."
